If you are bored one day you might want to visit Daejeon's World Cup Stadium. This stadium hosted some games during the football World Cup 2002 (yes I want to call it, football, not soccer ( ̄^ ̄)). You can find a lot of football sculptures all over the district Yuseong-gu, where the stadium is located.
The World Cup Stadium has its own subway station (there is only one subway line in Daejeon), and can be easily accessed by bus (#101 outside of the CNU campus, get off at Juk-Dong 3, also bus numbers #109, 114, 116, 212).
Next to the World Cup Stadium, there is Noeun Agriculture and Marine Product Market Yuseong Market. The market is devided into several buildings and tents outside of the buildings. I was there on a Sunday, so there wasn't much going on, but some of the shops were open. You can buy meat, fish, fruits, vegetables and flowers. You can make a great bargain with fruits, because the small shops have different prices for different levels of ripeness. The fish market is nice to stroll around, because they have a lot of living fish there. You can even buy freshly made Sashimi for 20,000KRW (~13€).
